Dan is a National Park Ranger at Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands Park.
He schedules the activities at the park and prepares campfire talks and other presentations. He also supervises some of the other rangers.

The scenery at the park is spectacular. It's an amazing place to visit. If you like hiking, it's great.
Dan's cats - Sydney and Pitino
At home, Dan has two cats to keep him company. Sydney is his newest one - he got him this summer and named him after Sydney, Australia, where he went in September to see the Olympics.
Pitino is three years old and she is named after the coach of the Boston Celtics basketball team, Rick Pitino. As you can tell, Dan really loves sports. Although he lives 30 miles from the city and is pretty isolated, he has a satellite dish and keeps up-to-date on all of the sporting events.
