This picture, taken sometime in the mid l920’s - Itzchak and Hendel Liebe Warszakski and their remaining family -- Frandel Lia, Chaskel, Hershel and Velvel. What a beautiful family!

Chanah had met Harry (Chiel Zeid) in Yvansk. They were engaged in Europe and married in Chicago in 1921. Chanah and Chiel had a small grocery store on Sawyer Avenue south of Roosevelt Road (in the heart of the West Side Jewish neighborhood) .Their family grew.

Then there were three -- Ruth, Estelle and Lee.

They prospered after the depression years of the 1930' s and they gave up the grocery business. Chanah and Harry celebrate an important wedding anniversary.

Tzutel, Hendel Liebe's second daughter, married Velvel Gula. They remained in Bogria and had five children. The eldest, Harry, managed to survive the Nazi occupation and the Terienstadt concentration camp. Harry died this past year. We shall miss him.
