| Herschel and Chaskel were customer peddlers. In
the early 1940's, Chaim bought a large orange grove outside of Rio de
Janeiro. He couldn't maintain the payments. There was a foreclosure and he
lost the property, which has now become part of downtown Rio.
Chaskel went into the furniture
business. In addition to his retail store, he became a manufacturer of
orthopedic mattresses. Would you believe that there is in Brazil an
orthopedic mattress with the brand name of
“WARSHATON”. |
